VRChat is one of the VR platforms used as a venue for Virtual Market. Even if you don’t own VR equipment, you can still visit using a Windows desktop PC.

1. Register for VRChat

To access VRChat worlds, you’ll need to create a VRChat account.

1-1. Access the VRChat Website

Go to https://hello.vrchat.com/

1-2. Create a VRChat Account

Creating a VRChat account is free.

Click Login in the upper right corner of the VRChat website to open the login page.

Since you don’t have an account yet, click Create an Account.

You’ll be taken to a registration form. Please fill in all the required fields.

1-3. Verify your Email Address

After completing your registration, a verification email will be sent to the address you provided.

Click the URL in that email to verify your account and complete your VRChat registration.

2. Install and Register for Steam

Next, if you want to use the Windows PC version of VRChat, install Steam, a gaming platform, on your computer.

Installation is free.

Note: You can also access VRChat using standalone VR equipment without a PC.

In that case, download and launch VRChat on your VR device’s platform, then continue from step 3-3. Log in to VRChat with your VRChat account.

2-1. Access Steam

Go to https://store.steampowered.com/about/ .

2-2. Install Steam

Click "INSTALL STEAM" to download a file (SteamSetup.exe).

Once the download is complete, launch the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install Steam.

2-3. Launch Steam and Create an Account

To use Steam, you’ll need a Steam account.

Creating an account is free.

When you open the installed Steam application, a login screen will appear.

Enter the email address you want to use for your Steam account.

You’ll receive a verification email. Click Verify Email Address.

An account creation screen will appear. Enter your Steam account name and password, then click Done.

3. Install and Launch VRChat

VRChat can be launched through Steam. Install the VRChat application using Steam.

Installation is free.

3-1. Install VRChat using Steam

Launch the Steam application and enter VRChat in the store search field.

When it appears (as shown in the red highlighted area in the image), click it.

If it does not appear automatically, search for VRChat and select it from the search results.

Scroll down the VRChat page and locate Play Game.

Click Play Game and follow the on-screen instructions to install VRChat.

3-2. Launch VRChat

After the installation is complete, click Library at the top of the Steam window.

In the sidebar, select VRChat, then click the green Play button.

A prompt will appear asking whether to launch in VR Mode or Desktop Mode.

Select Launch VRChat in Steam VR Mode when using VR equipment.

Select Launch in Desktop (Non-VR) Mode when using a standard PC.

Click Play.

3-3. Log in to VRChat with your VRChat account

When VRChat starts, select a preferred language.

On the login screen, choose VRChat as the account type.

Enter the username and password you registered when creating your VRChat account. Press the Done button to log in.

If a tutorial starts automatically, complete the tutorial. After finishing the tutorial, the system will proceed to VRChat Home.

4. Access the Desired World Using World Search

This section explains how to access a world.

The example below uses accessing Virtual Market worlds.

4-1. Searching the World

Press the ESC key in desktop mode or the menu button in VR mode to open the Launch Pad. Once the menu opens, click the Worlds button in the upper left.

When the world list appears, click the Search button in the upper left corner.

On the search screen, enter the world name or related keywords in the search field.

After entering the name, click the OK button.

When the search results appear, select the world to visit.

The world details screen will be displayed. Click the Join button to enter the world.

4-2. Access via "Invite me" from world links

It is also possible to access a world directly from a world link.

First, enter VRChat by following the steps in 3-3. Log In to VRChat with Your VRChat Account.

After logging in, click a world link in your web browser.
A screen similar to the one shown below will appear.

Alternatively, create a new instance by selecting the Launch button on the right.

A screen similar to the one shown below will appear.

Friends+ allows access for VRChat friends and their friends.
Invite+ is more restrictive, allowing only users who have received an invitation.

On this screen, selecting INVITE ME sends an invitation to yourself within VRChat.

Open the quick menu in VRChat (ESC key in Desktop Mode).
The invitation will appear in the upper left corner of the screen.

Click the invitation, then select the check mark to move to the target world instance.
